About The Position

Pacific Pros is seeking Construction Manager IV for Construction Projects to be a representative for Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA). Terminal 7 / Terminal 8 Refresh Construction Manager (Construction Manager) shall report to the Terminal 7 / Terminal Project Manager (Project Manager) and is responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities of the Contractor. The Construction Manager acts as the liaison for pre-construction and construction activities, including leading the safety, security and quality for the Program. The Terminal 7 and 8 Refresh Project encompasses a series of improvements aimed at enhancing resiliency, sustainability, and the overall user experience. Key scope components include interior renovations, aircraft apron pavement rehabilitation, concessions enabling, and other supporting enhancements. Work Location: LAWA has required the candidates be locally available for this position . Region: Los Angeles, CA Status: Full-time on-site. Key Identifiers for the Position Construction Manager with experience in an operating/active environment Management of construction within budget and schedule constraints while maintaining all necessary scope elements Leader in stakeholder engagement to identify, communicate, resolve, and accomplish stakeholder needs while preserving project scope, schedule, and budget constraints Knowledge of construction contracting practices and methodologies Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle, from pre-construction to estimating/buyout, phasing, implementation, and closeout Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with design and construction professionals, geared toward open communication and mutual problem-solving in the best interest of the project and all parties involved

Requirements

  • 15 years or more of experience, preferably on airport projects
  • Experience with projects valued at more than $100 million
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build
  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Multiple positions are anticipated — submitted experience should emphasize airport concourse scope, airport headhouse scope, or site/civil scope
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or other related technical field required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems (PM Web)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Optional certifications/licensure may include AAAE, LEED, PE, AIA, PMP, AICP, or other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all on-site field construction activities associated with project completion
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines used during construction, including methods and techniques for installation
  • Ensure construction operations follow approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests (ASRs), and that all proper notifications are made
  • Become thoroughly familiar with contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected
  • Ensure all work is performed and inspected in accordance with the latest plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals, and RFIs
  • Work with the Design/Builder and stakeholders to develop overall construction planning and identify critical milestones and priorities
  • Monitor budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule
  • Monitor assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and meet budget goals
  • Identify potential problem areas and take preventive action to ensure critical milestones are met for each project phase
  • Ensure the use of sound and safe construction practices to achieve required quality control at maximum efficiency and minimum cost
  • Prepare periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for senior management and clients
  • Ensure effective implementation of all policies and procedures, including project labor agreement policies
  • Contribute to the advancement of ADG’s goals through productive collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate
  • Participate in necessary coordination meetings with the Design/Builder, trade partners, stakeholders, LAWA Operations, and others
  • Review contractor potential change order claims for merit and negotiate to final resolution
