About The Position

We are looking for a talented Construction Manager who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for providing oversight, coordination, management support and technical expertise for all aspects of electrical construction projects in the Heavy Industrial markets.

Requirements

  • Extensive (5+) project/construction management expertise in the Heavy industrial markets.
  • Extensive project management skills with a track record of achievement of complex projects.
  • Knowledge, interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiations skills.
  • Strong PC skills and software proficiency.
  • Strong managerial/leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide oversight to numerous projects throughout a large geographic area.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Superintendent and customers to assure projects are coordinated efficiently and meet contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts and schedules.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting the implementation and management of the MJE Safety Management System.
  • Promote proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in the drafting and review of key project estimates and proposals.
  • Assist with the coordination, preparation and drafting of Heavy Industrial electrical construction estimates and proposals.
  • Ensure that MJE Senior Management is kept current on the progress of construction projects, business opportunities and industry trends.
  • Systematically and regularly appraise and evaluate project progress against established goals, timelines and objectives.
  • Consult with Clients and Owners regarding design requirements, job specifications, bid requirements and offer technical expertise regarding construction solutions.
  • Understand critical design requirements of on-going projects and continuously monitor construction quality to ensure compliance within established tolerances.
  • Promote and develop common systems and processes to provide for proper accounting, reporting of project costs, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement, record keeping, documentation and budgeting by Construction Managers.
  • Interface with key customers to ensure that construction activities in affected areas are communicated and understood.
  • Delegate activities, responsibilities, and authorities, ensuring appropriate levels and assignments of accountability are defined and understood.
  • Assist in the hiring, orientation and career development of key personnel.
  • Assist with the development and tracking of key performance metrics.
  • Stay current on construction management trends and ensure Project Management personnel are informed of significant changes.
