The Construction Manager is generally responsible for the total delivery of services safely, on time, within performance budget, and meeting quality expectations on moderately complex projects. This role requires progressive experience in construction management and involves utilizing project controls for cost, schedule, and quality. The work is performed under minimal supervision. The CM oversees the planning, coordination, and control of construction processes during the project's construction phase, actively participating in daily project team meetings. They are responsible for all construction-related supervision and deliverables, including safety and quality compliance. The CM integrates engineering design from Issued for Construction Drawings (IFCs) with field construction, ensuring execution aligns with approved drawings and specifications. Leveraging company and contractor expertise, the CM aims to reduce construction risk, improve worker productivity, lower total installation costs, and minimize on-site labor. The CM collaborates with the project team to optimize field scaffolding, fabrication, permit issuance, coordination with plant operations, and field construction. They document execution progress according to the path of construction and execution plan. The CM manages and supervises the field construction execution crew, focusing on safety, productivity, quality, field changes, and schedule, and reports any observed red flags to the project manager. Additionally, the CM leads continuous improvement efforts to enhance labor workflow, training, site safety walks, housekeeping, and daily communications and interfaces with various contractors.
