About The Position

The Early Works Construction Manager will be responsible for leading the construction teams performing site development. This position must oversee the safe, quality, efficient, and timely execution of work activities including: · Clearing and grubbing · Mass excavation · Grading · General earthworks · Fencing · Temporary facilities installation · Temporary power installation · Concrete foundation installation Responsibilities & Competencies This position is the single point of accountability for all construction activities on-site during the early works phase. They are responsible for all safety, quality, and profit/loss of operations during this time. Success in this role will be measured by how prepared the site is for the structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical teams. Plan and execute all early works activities. Read construction drawings, understand specifications, and communicate requirements directly to tradesmen performing the work. Understand and maintain regulatory compliance for projects. Qualifications Experience as a direct-hire superintendent over at least one of the relevant trades is required. Experience as a tradesman in at least one of the relevant trades is preferred. Extensive experience in industrial concrete installation including direct supervision over mass pours of 1,000 CY and more is preferred but can be substituted with strong expertise in earthworks. Proactive, self-motivated, able to operate independently. Excellent verbal skills dealing with stakeholders on a construction site, notably engineering, subcontractors, vendors, and other partners. Requirements
