About The Position

Dakota County Technical College invites applicants for adjunct/temporary part-time instructors to teach courses in our Construction Management program, who are dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. Construction Management Program Description: Designed to prepare the student for a career as an entry level inspector and/ or plan reviewer in various areas of the construction inspection field. The student gains the knowledge and develops skills necessary to perform as a construction inspector or plan reviewer in general building code compliance inspection or in specific areas of code compliance. Once completed, students are prepared to sit for the applicable certified inspector test administered by the International Code Council. It is also a pathway that can lead to other industry certifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or construction science.
  • Two full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid experience in construction management.
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.
  • The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years
  • In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
