Requirements

  • Motivated, reliable, and ready to learn new skills in a hands-on environment.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Commitment to following all safety requirements, procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed-your health and safety come first.
  • Flexibility to travel, work nights, weekends, and outside of your local area when the job requires it.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform manual tasks in all weather and working conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in construction is a plus but not required-your attitude and work ethic matter most.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools is helpful; willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safe work environment by rigorously following all safety policies, procedures, and protocols-your safety and that of your team is our top priority.
  • Follow all companies, OSHA, and MSHA regulations for safe and compliant job execution, and promptly report any issues to leadership or safety personnel.
  • Support the construction and paving crews with hands-on tasks such as shoveling, raking, operating a wheelbarrow, and directing trucks for safe and precise operations.
  • Communicate with equipment operators to ensure seamless movement and alignment of materials using hand signals and tools.
  • Execute daily tasks as directed by your Foreman, adapting quickly to the ever-changing demands of the project.
  • Operate small power tools (e.g., jackhammers) as needed, improving your technical skill set on the job.
  • Dig, spread, and level construction materials for optimal project results.
  • Move and handle materials, tools, and supplies with care and efficiency.
  • Install, relocate, and remove traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, and cones to keep work zones safe.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance-your presence makes a difference.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned-no two days are ever the same.
