MWH Constructors (MWH), a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking a Construction Laborer to support a critical wastewater treatment plant construction project in Austin, Texas. Essential Functions (may include) Perform general construction labor in support of carpentry, concrete, mechanical, and civil crews on treatment plant projects Assist with excavation support, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation activities Handle, move, and stage construction materials, tools, and equipment Support concrete operations, including formwork prep, placing, vibrating, patching, and curing protection Install and remove temporary works such as barricades, fencing, protection, and erosion control Perform demolition, cleanup, and debris removal in new and existing treatment facilities Operate basic hand and power tools (shovels, rakes, compactors, saws, drills, etc.) Assist skilled trades (carpenters, pipefitters, operators, ironworkers) as directed Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and access ways Follow all safety requirements, including PPE, confined space, trench safety, and lockout/tagout controls Participate in daily safety meetings, stretch-and-flex, and crew coordination Perform other general labor duties as assigned to support project needs Trash collection and disposal. Organize the tool and equipment sheds.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ year of construction or outdoor labor experience preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Required to communicate information, ideas, directions, and the capability to perform the task or project discussed.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with utmost regard for safety.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including carrying, digging, climbing, kneeling, and prolonged standing
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and active construction environments
  • Willingness to learn heavy civil and treatment plant construction practices
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a crew environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to construction safety practices
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • If requested, the applicant shall furnish a written statement from a medical doctor that he/she has had a physical examination in connection with the application and is physically fit to perform the work.
