Construction Laborer II (Advanced) Position Overview Performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor at construction job sites.Operates hand tools and construction equipment such as (but not limited to) air hammers, vacuums, small cutting machines, and earth tampers. Performing carpentry and masonry, redirecting traffic, assisting with road construction, operating small gas-powered tools, performing custodial and housekeeping tasks. Essential duties Performs pick and shovel on construction sites, loads, and unloads stone, gravel, dirt, timber, steel reinforcement, heavy mechanical equipment, or tools to the appropriate locations. Housekeeping duties at worksite maintaining a clean job site to eliminate potential hazards and debris. Excavates and fills trenches and ditches Helps place forms and pour concrete Flags traffic, setting out barricades, cones, or other safety devices to help ensure the safety of the crew and the public. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. Erect or dismantle temporary structures and equipment used during a project. Set up pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials. Follow Instructions. Other Duties as assigned General Tasks: Maintain a clean job site to eliminate potential hazards. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
