About The Position

Highway Construction Crew Labor D&J Construction Company, a leading highway construction contractor in northeast Louisiana, is seeking motivated and dependable Crew Laborers for asphalt highway construction projects. Prior experience is preferred but not required—we provide on-the-job training for candidates committed to developing their skills in the construction industry. Position Overview: The Highway Construction Crew Laborer performs a variety of manual tasks involved in highway construction, including preparing job sites, handling equipment and materials, and supporting paving operations.

Requirements

Flexible availability – Primarily daytime shifts, Monday through Friday, but frequent Saturdays could be required with occasional Sunday and nighttime work required.
Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Ability to effectively follow instructions from supervisors and senior crew members.
Valid email address for communication.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening .
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Prior asphalt or construction experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform general construction-related labor tasks across all phases of highway construction.
Prepare, clean, and maintain construction job sites.
Safely use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and brooms.
Operate power tools (jackhammers, earth tampers, pavement breakers) under supervision.
Assist with traffic control and safety procedures as needed.
