About The Position

CCI Mechanical, LLC is growing and looking for a motivated Intern to support our Construction Business Line. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on federal construction projects within a general contracting and self-performing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) environment. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and field teams, gaining exposure to both office and jobsite operations. You’ll support project planning, coordination, design review, and field execution while learning how complex federal construction projects are delivered from start to finish. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in construction, engineering, or project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily construction project activities, both in the office and on job sites
  • Support project managers with scheduling, documentation, and coordination of work
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost tracking, and basic estimating tasks
  • Help prepare and organize project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and reports
  • Participate in jobsite meetings and assist with meeting minutes and follow-ups
  • Monitor jobsite progress and report on productivity, safety, and quality
  • Support safety initiatives by helping ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers as directed
  • Perform general administrative and project support tasks as needed
