About The Position

CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for the Construction Group, providing an opportunity for students interested in construction management and accounting. The intern will work on various heavy civil projects, gaining hands-on experience in all project phases, including bidding, fieldwork, documentation, and compliance reporting.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good attendance and punctual
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SAP
• Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry

Responsibilities

• Complete Safety and MSHA training and any other site/job specific required training
• Carry-out and practice all Safety training and Company policies in the CalPortland workplace
• Assist in routine housekeeping and maintenance of the facilities
• Assist with equipment costing analysis
• Assist with building a reporting process that can review and qualify all operating and ownership cost
• Learn about other CalPortland departments and interface as required
• Attend Summer Intern Orientation event at Corporate Headquarters in Glendora, CA
• Perform plant tasks as assigned
