About The Position

CMT Engineering Laboratories is currently seeking Construction Inspectors and Technicians to join our team in Phoenix Arizona. The role involves providing project construction inspections and/or materials testing support for projects that involve construction activities for transportation, civil, and structural building projects. Inspectors will monitor construction operations for compliance with contract provisions, drawings, and specifications, while Technicians will provide construction materials testing of soils, asphalt, concrete, masonry, structural steel, and other miscellaneous items. The position often includes extended hours and may involve assignments on projects throughout Central Arizona.

Requirements

  • Certifications with ATTI, ACI, ICC, AWS, Nuclear Density Gauge
  • Proficient in construction inspections
  • Proficient in specifications and plan interpretation
  • Possess good mathematical skills
  • Experience performing independent analysis and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Must pass a drug test, physical, and background check and must have a satisfactory driving record following the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable knowledge of roadway, buildings, structure, construction methods, procedures, practices, plans, and specifications
  • Knowledge in the use of electronic data processing equipment and contract management software
  • Knowledge of general inspection and testing principles; safety; and quality control-quality assurance principles
  • Skill in the use of nuclear density and materials testing equipment
  • Ability to interpret roadway, civil, and/or building plans, specifications, and codes.

Responsibilities
