Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Inspector who is interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction management and engineering. This position is available in our Rocky Hill, CT office. The ideal candidate brings a robust background in urban infrastructure, specifically utility work – primarily water and sewer pipeline and rehabilitation. They must demonstrate a high aptitude for identifying and resolving surface restoration conflicts, working safely, and working in a team centered environment. Additionally, proficiency in documentation of contractor operations is required to ensure alignment with engineering plans and specifications. Requirements

  • Associates’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
  • 4-10 years of related experience in construction inspection or oversight focused on utility work – primarily water and sewer pipeline and rehabilitation.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of drawings, plans, specifications, and general contract documents.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to work under unfavorable weather conditions year-round and traverse rough, steep terrain while performing duties.
  • Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering and Construction Methods, Materials and Equipment.
  • Responsible for interpreting plans and specifications as required to prepare, present, evaluate, monitor, and maintain project records and documents.
  • Follow and adhere to all federal and state regulations, client requirements and contracts, and company policies and procedures including but not limited to, safety, ADA requirements, or environmental regulations.
