About The Position

Keville Enterprises Inc., an established Construction Management Consulting & Inspection firm, is seeking a full-time Construction inspector to join our team in Rocky Hill, CT. If you have field construction inspection experience in highway or a relevant engineering field, and a passion for delivering high-quality results, we encourage you to apply! A WBE/DBE Certified Construction management and inspection firm, Keville specializes in providing a full spectrum of construction management and support services as an owner's representative on public and private projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in inspecting, testing, or managing construction projects is a must.
  • Candidates must have effective written and oral communication skills, be eager to learn, willing to perform a variety of tasks and be a team player.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in civil, highway or a relevant engineering field is required, with field inspection capacity.
  • A NICET Level 2 is required for this position.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Candidates must be fully proficient in the use of computers including MS Word, Excel and construction reporting/quantity tracking software.
  • Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment.
  • Daily on-site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend work during critical project phases or to meet project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Other certifications including NACE Coatings Inspection; ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor; NETTCP HMA Inspector, NETTCP Concrete Inspector, Soils and Concrete, ACI Technician and AWS/CWI are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specification
  • Contract administration
  • Reporting daily progress
  • Tracking and documenting quantities of work performed
  • Resolving construction problems and challenges in the field and other oversight responsibilities as assigned
  • Documentation control
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to perform quantity takeoffs/calculations
