About The Position
Construction Inspector– Hospital Renovation - Location: Randalls Island We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join the Construction Management team overseeing a major hospital rehabilititaion and renovation project on behalf of the State of New York. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction management a plus
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in building construction trades
- Minimum four (4) years of experience as a Construction Inspector including inspection of site/civil is required.
- OSHA 30 hr.
- Proficiency with web-based submittal collaboration systems
- Construction scheduling knowledge to support project team
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and procedures
- Ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations
- Experience reading and interpreting plans and specifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Collaborate with multiple team members
- Ability and coordination to safely maneuver around a construction site
Responsibilities
- Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications
- Inspect all material upon arrival to the jobsite to ensure compliance
- Review plans to identify potential violations
- Document inspections and report any issues
- Determine the quality of materials being used throughout testing
