We are Making Sustainability Happen. As our new Construction Inspector/Transportation Engineer Intern , you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal. Role This position will work on a wide range of Maine and New England based transportation engineering projects, as well as be responsible for planning, design, permitting, analysis, and preparation of specifications and technical reports as well as construction inspections as needed. During design they may assist with preliminary design, utility coordination and investigation, project estimates, preparation of specifications and contract documents and final design. During construction inspection they will oversee construction activities, coordinate and test materials being incorporated into the work, physically measure quantities of production, assist in preparing spreadsheets and letters associated with change orders, meeting summaries, and revised design sketches. Typical projects include highway design, complete streets, parks, greenways, sidewalks, watermains, sanitary sewers, pump stations, storm water facilities, bridge and utility structure improvements. The internship is a temporary seasonal position typically offered during the summer and winter months The hourly range for this position is $22.00- $25.00.
