Job Summary: Observation and inspection of various construction projects including roadways, bridges, pedestrian facilities, utilities, and associated improvements. Daily travel required within Southwest Florida area. Company vehicle provided.

Requirements

  • Construction experience required in roadway, bridge, utility and/or site civil construction required.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Must have an excellent driving record, be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Sponsorship not available now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • CEI experience with roadway construction preferred.
  • Existing construction certifications (CTQP, MOT, ACI, Troxler, etc.) preferred but not required.
  • Applicant must be willing and able to attain necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
  • Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
  • Observe work in progress to determine whether procedures followed, and materials used are in reasonable conformance with applicable specifications.
  • Interprets blueprints and specifications for Contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
  • Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports.
  • Track progress and quantity of construction work items.
  • Perform and document testing of certain construction work items as defined in the contract documents.
