JMT's Trenton Construction Services Team is seeking to add entry level inspectors to apply standard inspection procedures for in progress and completed construction work for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Working hours will include night shifts. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Compensation is $25.00-$35.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.

Requirements

  • Communication

  • Active Driver’s License
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle Screening
  • High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
  • On the job training provided

Nice To Haves

  • Construction inspection experience preferred in transportation
  • NICET | Certification or ability to obtain within first six months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret construction drawings, site layouts, specifications and construction methods for compliance with the approved plans and specifications, laws and safety regulations
  • Perform routine tests as needed for concrete, soils and other materials
  • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement for compliance with contract documents
  • Prepare daily reports, quantity measurements and computations
  • Makes field notes and computations.
  • Tracks delivery tickets and pay items for processing payments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
