Requirements

• Five (5) years of experience as a Construction Inspector.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of Right-of-Way and Easement Drawings.
• Effective communication skills in person, by phone, and email.
• Ability to work in minimally supervised environments.
• Mathematical calculation skills and ability to measure distances.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector through APWA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects the construction of all new facilities for NTMWD to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Advises the Inspector Supervisor of any discrepancies in work performed and ensures corrective actions are taken by the Contractor.
• Writes daily reports detailing activities, weather conditions, and quantities of work.
• Verifies the quantity of work accomplished for monthly estimates.
• Ensures that materials and equipment installed conform to approved submittals.
• Available to the Contractor during working hours to resolve construction-related questions.
• Ensures construction activities are confined to District easements and that easement conditions are fulfilled.
• Verifies adherence to the contractor's safety plan.
• Mentors and trains Inspector I's.
