Able to work and coordinate together with clients and contractors by understanding contract documents, enforcing traffic control measures and documenting work performed by various contractors. We provide full-service planning, design and construction management services on everything from roadways and bridges to airports, stormwater infrastructure, and parks/recreation projects primarily for state and local agencies and municipalities. WHO YOU ARE You have the ability to demonstrate complete competence as an inspector and have experience organizing and maintaining daily reports and photo documentation. You are a safety expert. Our inspectors work outside on arterial roads and expressways, so safety is key to success. You have or will pass the 10-hour OSHA training. IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities Certification is preferred. A current driver’s license is required. A background check will be performed. You meet our education requirements. While a high school diploma is required, at least two years of college is preferred. IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification is also preferred, but not required. Your skill set ranges from entry level willing to grow and learn to several years of construction experience. You’re a people person with the ability to interface and collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues. Your organization, leadership, and communication skills will contribute to your success. You are open minded, technically inclined, and reliable. You’re proficient with business applications. Microsoft Office 365 understanding is a must. Your schedule is flexible. You are available to work from 7:00am-3:30pm, with possible overtime and occasional nights and weekends. WHAT YOU’LL DO You’ll work outside on our construction projects overseeing and documenting contractor’s operations. Projects may include pavement rehabilitation, streetscaping, bridge reconstruction and roadside maintenance work. You’ll be integral to our construction projects. Projects may include surveying, marking up existing damages, monitoring the contractor’s work activities, approving work zone traffic control, preparing work orders, and providing IDOT documentation. You’ll oversee multiple sites per day, as our work is throughout IDOT Region 1 (McHenry, Lake, Kane, DuPage, Cook, and Will Counties). You’ll examine workmanship of construction tasks before, during, and after completion for conformity to contract documents. As a part of the Primera Team, we’ll provide you with the tools you’ll need to review and measure work items. You’ll prepare daily summary reports of construction inspection activities. Daily documentation of work is essential to keep the project on schedule. You’ll connect with people. It’s critical to the work we do. You’ll interface with clients, consultants, subconsultants, and vendors. You’ll build strong relationships and maintain a focus on superior client service. You’ll enjoy what you do. Requirements
