About The Position

The essential function of the position within the organization is to inspect County construction projects in an assigned division, which may include roadways, stormwater systems, parks & trails system and other various construction projects for compliance with applicable regulations. The position is responsible for performing construction inspection and plan review, reviewing right-of-way utilization permit applications, maintaining inspection/review records, and performing related tasks as assigned. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks. This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of college or vocational school education in Construction Management/Inspection or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of related experience required.
• Valid Florida driver's license required.
• Certification in the Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic course or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment may be required.
• Certification in the Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control course or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment may be required.
