The role operates under the general guidance of the Chief Construction Inspector. Key functions include inspecting and supervising water and sewer construction to ensure compliance with approved plans and H2GO standards, informing contractors of necessary corrections, and assisting in issuing approvals. The inspector is responsible for documenting field conditions, maintaining construction and inspection records, and noting as-built conditions on engineering drawings. Coordination of inspections and testing schedules with various parties, inspecting work under permits, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local codes are also critical. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries from the public and contractors, and performing all duties in accordance with safety policies. Additionally, the position involves managing public relations and contributing to a culture of belonging and inclusion across H2GO departments.
