About The Position

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a highly motivated Construction Inspector 1 to join our Transportation Group. This role will be working with the MDTA at the Bay Bridge.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work outside in a variety of conditions
• Ability to perform work independently
• Good writing skills and the ability to use technology including having computer skills and the ability to use an iPad

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in construction management or related field (preferred)
• Basic construction knowledge with the ability to obtain MARTCP certification along with traffic control manager and SHA Yellow Card
• Experience reading engineering plans
• Experience reading and understanding technical reports

Responsibilities

• Working as an on-site consultant for a government agency
• Assist with Inspector Daily Reports: i.e., daily construction logs, change orders, time & material, timesheet & expenses
• Assist with documenting and forwarding identified or received field concerns
• Assist with submittal reviews and RFI responses
• Prepare daily reports of construction activities and progress and prepare meeting minutes of weekly construction meetings
• Other duties as assigned
