About The Position

Summary: Performs construction, demolition and routine tasks involving physical labor on construction projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Utilizes tools and power tools as assigned in the demolition and/or construction of concrete, asphalt, drainage, grading, utility line or other projects. Operates wheeled and track-driven construction equipment. Operates dump truck. Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Follows standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects; follows all safety protocol. Interprets construction documents and successfully implements the design. Assists with completion and submittal of weekly tool, equipment and vehicle maintenance reports. Attends training as required. Deploys for emergency response due to inclement weather, i.e. snow and ice, tornado or other crisis. Maintains professional demeanor with coworkers, supervisor and general public. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Three years of experience in construction. Basic ability to interpret construction documents and successfully implement. Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures. Ability to utilize hand-operated, wheeled and track equipment. Working Conditions: Exposure to: strenuous labor for extended periods of time, heavy equipment, hazardous construction zones and work sites, extreme weather conditions, paint and petroleum products. Work time expectation, 90% of time will be physical labor, 10% training and misc.

Requirements

  • Driver's license with CDL-A
  • 5 years of similar experience required.
  • Three years of experience in construction.
  • Basic ability to interpret construction documents and successfully implement.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures.
  • Ability to utilize hand-operated, wheeled and track equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior heavy civil experience is preferred, but not required.
