About The Position

The Construction Foreman I assists with all construction activities at the job site, including attending construction meetings, coordinating between disciplines, and ensuring adequate resources are available according to the schedule. This role involves performing daily site inspections, validating construction metrics, and notifying the foreman if progress lags. The Foreman I reviews the overall schedule for potential delays, follows up on equipment and bulk deliveries, and organizes periodic quality walkabouts. A key responsibility is ensuring work complies with safety policies, procedures, and all applicable environmental and regulatory requirements. The position also entails managing a functional area, providing technical guidance to junior staff, tracking daily progress and costs, reviewing invoices, and verifying billing and expenditures. The individual must demonstrate leadership skills, be able to work in a multicultural environment, and track project costs. Various other tasks may be assigned by the Superintendent.

  • Must be experienced in staff training, supervision, motivation and retention
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to pass a pre‐employment drug and background check
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state‐certified program
  • Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on‐call rotation
  • Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
  • Capable of rigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment

Nice To Haves

  • CDL a plus (may be required in some locations)
  • Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred
  • Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all construction activities at job site
  • Attend the construction meetings with the foremen and subcontractors, coordinate between disciplines, and anticipate upcoming activities with adequate resources according to the allotted time schedule
  • Perform daily site inspections to check that site activities are consistent with plan activities
  • Check and validate construction metrics for progress of project, notify foreman if progress is lagging
  • Review overall schedule for problems that may cause delays
  • Follow up on equipment and bulk deliveries expedite as needed
  • Organize periodic quality walkabouts with Foreman
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with Scout’s safety policies/procedures as well as all applicable environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Manage a functional area and provide technical guidance to junior staff
  • Track daily progress on jobs and daily costs
  • Review invoices and verify billing, expenditures and cost‐control on assigned projects
  • Demonstrate leadership skills/abilities (able to work in multicultural environment)
  • Track cost of assigned projects (both CAPAEX and LOE)
  • Perform other various tasks as assigned by the Superintendent
