About The Position

The Financial Controller will oversee the accounting practices of a rapidly growing asphalt maintenance and paving company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This role requires collaboration with various team members while also managing independent accounting functions, particularly in the contracting industry.

Requirements

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years total experience in progressive roles including construction accounting experience.
• 2+ years public accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• ProContractor by Viewpoint software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Post all Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions including AIA billing.
• Set up and maintain vendors/subcontractors in the system and keep W9 and Certificate of Insurance (COI) up to date; prepare year-end 1099s.
• Prepare for any annual Workers' Compensation/General Liability insurance audits.
• Reconcile Purchase Orders for inventory.
• Manage the Chart of Accounts as well as job cost categories and job expense allocations.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements including Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Income Statements.
• Support the Office Manager in the development and execution of projects as needed.
