About The Position

The Facility Management Mechanic performs functions directly and indirectly related to facility management activities in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives. This role involves providing recommendations for utility machinery maintenance based on findings. The mechanic will perform various functions such as planning, installation, inspection, corrective, scheduled, and preventative maintenance on utility/WWTP equipment including air compressors, HVAC units, piping, chillers, cooling towers, generators, etc. Responsibilities include visually inspecting utility equipment and facility issues to locate potential malfunctions, wear, misalignment, defective parts, and deterioration. The role also involves managing maintenance mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components of utility generation equipment, responding to work requests and service calls, providing troubleshooting, coordinating planned and shutdown maintenance tasks, writing maintenance reports, building rapport with suppliers, communicating with engineers in Production, preparing for audits and quality inspections, and managing the purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance materials.

Requirements

  • More than 3 years mechanical facility management experience in automated plants.
  • Ability to understand drawings and specifications of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • More than 5 years mechanical facility management experience in the major automotive industry in the US.
  • Holders of mechanical or electrical certifications.
  • Experience in equipment installations including design study, paperwork, inspection, and testing.

  • Manage and monitor the purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance materials.
