Construction and Facility Maintenance
About The Position
Devil Mountain Wholesale Nursery is seeking dependable Construction & Facility Maintenance team members to support the upkeep and improvement of nursery facilities and infrastructure. This role performs construction, repair, and maintenance tasks related to irrigation systems, yard structures, and general facility improvements. Employees in this role assist with a variety of projects including irrigation repairs, carpentry work, shade structure construction, concrete work, and general yard maintenance. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving ability, safe tool operation, and the ability to work independently while supporting a variety of facility improvement projects across nursery operations.
Requirements
- Ability to perform basic construction and maintenance tasks including carpentry, irrigation repair, and facility upkeep
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and basic construction equipment
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in construction, irrigation maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related field
- Experience working in outdoor environments such as nurseries, agriculture, or landscaping
Responsibilities
- Perform moderate to complex irrigation repairs and system upgrades throughout the nursery
- Grade and level nursery areas as needed, including adding gravel or installing posts
- Replace nursery posts and install head-level wire used for tree ties
- Build or repair pallets for operational use when required
- Assist with construction projects such as pouring concrete, building shade structures, and other facility improvements
- Perform general building repairs and yard maintenance tasks
- Maintain nursery grounds by keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Travel to other nursery locations when needed to assist with repair or construction projects
- Follow direction from Yard Management regarding assigned projects and tasks
- Assist other nursery departments and support general nursery operations when needed
