About The Position

The Estimator / Sales / Pre-Construction Coordinator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing client inquiries, assisting with project sales, and organizing project details before construction begins. This individual will support both operational and customer-facing tasks, helping ensure projects start smoothly and clients feel confident throughout the process. This position blends analytical, organizational, and communication skills—ideal for someone who enjoys both numbers and people. Estimating Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to generate detailed cost estimates. Perform quantity take-offs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Solicit bids from vendors/subcontractors and ensure competitive pricing. Prepare and present bid proposals, estimates, and budgets to leadership and clients. Maintain historical cost data and update project cost databases. Sales & Client Relations Serve as an initial point of contact for new leads and inquiries. Conduct client consultations, gather project details, and help qualify leads. Support the sales process by preparing proposals, pricing sheets, and scope documents. Communicate professionally and promptly with clients regarding next steps. Earn small commissions based on closed projects. Pre-Construction Coordination Assist in preparing project files, schedules, and documentation before construction starts. Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and the internal team to confirm timelines and materials. Attend site visits, pre-construction meetings, and walkthroughs as needed. Ensure all necessary permits, documents, and approvals are collected before kickoff. Support project hand-off from sales/estimating to the production team.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred (experience may substitute).
  • 2–5 years of experience in construction estimating, project coordination, or sales.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials, construction processes, and industry terminology.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with estimating/project management software (PlanSwift, Buildertrend, Procore, Bluebeam, etc).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks, and comfortable working independently.
