About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator specializing in Multifamily and Commercial Construction for Renovations, TI-Build Outs and New Construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating the costs of projects and creating budgets that guide our team's construction efforts. They must possess a strong understanding of construction processes and materials and a keen eye for detail to accurately forecast future construction projects' cost, size, and duration.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years experience as a Construction Estimator.
  • Extensive knowledge of Multifamily and Commercial construction processes.
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Advanced understanding of construction software for job costing, scheduling, estimating, and project management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory construction standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to navigate construction job sites, including maneuvering in partially completed buildings, up and down stairs, and outdoor/indoor walking.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to various job sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Present prepared estimates by building up an itemized cost summary.
  • Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and engineers to gather detailed project information.
  • Oversee and coordinate the pre-construction job duties such as design reviews and scheduling.
  • Create and present reports detailing project estimates to upper management.
  • Evaluate changes and review designs to ensure budget adherence.
  • Develop strategies to meet project goals, like setting work hours and ordering supplies.
