About The Position

The Construction Estimator is responsible for reviewing construction documents and performing detailed quantity take-offs to support accurate project estimating and bidding. This role plays a critical part in analyzing project requirements, calculating material quantities, and collaborating with project teams to ensure estimates align with job specifications, site conditions, and company standards.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in construction estimating software such as PlanSwift or Bluebeam; proficiency in Procore is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction principles, methods, and materials.
  • Experience in a similar estimating or take-off role within the construction industry.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong mathematical skills with a solid understanding of geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and associated costs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in construction management or construction estimating preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Calculate the quantity of materials needed for various construction tasks.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed take-off reports to support project estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review and discuss project specifications.
  • Analyze job site conditions and adjust estimates based on actual project requirements.
  • Input data into estimating software to streamline and standardize the take-off process.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, regulations, and estimating procedures during take-offs.
  • Support the project bidding process by preparing detailed and reliable estimates.
  • Stay current with industry trends, construction methods, and building codes to ensure estimating accuracy.
  • Process change order as required.
