About The Position
The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing project estimates, reviewing specifications and drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work. This role involves using historical data to inform unit and man-hour figures, maintaining accurate files with current supplier prices, and calculating material quantities from drawings. The estimator will also prepare discipline estimates, recommend cost-effective design options, assist in negotiating contracts and change orders, and ensure the accuracy of final estimate packages before formal quotations. Additionally, the estimator will help decide which projects to bid on and participate in presentations and pre-qualification document preparation.
