About The Position
The Estimator / Engineer at Spartan Companies, LLC is a pivotal role that involves gathering and analyzing data and pricing to produce comprehensive proposals for customers on current or proposed projects. This position is essential in ensuring that the company can effectively bid on projects by evaluating Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and understanding the scope of work required. The Estimator / Engineer will collaborate closely with the Operations team to determine the specific needs for each project, including manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other resources necessary for successful project execution. In addition to evaluating RFPs, the Estimator / Engineer will solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors for materials or third-party services that Spartan will not self-perform. This role also involves preparing detailed cost estimates for internal review and assisting in the preparation of project proposals, which may include initial project schedules. A critical aspect of this position is reviewing and analyzing previously completed projects to assess the accuracy of estimates compared to actual costs, thereby identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. The Estimator / Engineer will also be expected to perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the company’s projects and ensuring that all proposals are competitive and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
