Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on 2020‑and‑newer small to medium construction equipment.
  • General engine, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting experience required.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong understanding of complex systems and logical functions.
  • Ability to travel to job sites for repairs when needed.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, troubleshooting flowcharts, and service manuals.
  • Must possess standard tools required for mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and web‑based service tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong teamwork attitude with a positive, customer‑focused approach.
  • Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • DOT trailer inspection certification (or willingness to obtain through provided testing).
  • Regular standing; frequent use of hands for handling tools and parts.
  • Frequent talking, hearing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance according to Multiquip guidelines and service schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and accurately diagnose standard construction equipment.
  • Identify, order, and manage parts needed for maintenance and repair.
  • Inspect and repair fuel, cooling, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Remove, disassemble, assemble, and install mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
  • Conduct functional and continuity tests using ohmmeters, test lights, and other electrical testing tools.
  • Route, twist, tie wrap, and attach wire to terminal points following layouts and diagrams.
  • Connect wiring to relays, circuit breakers, switches, solenoids, plugs, and accessories.
  • Properly set up and test equipment using approved procedures and safe operating practices.
  • Perform DOT inspections and repairs on trailers manufactured by Multiquip (certification available).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following Multiquip quality and safety standards.
  • Work closely with other technicians to complete scheduled work safely and on time.
  • Assist senior technicians when needed and support team productivity.
  • Prepare precise and timely service reports.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to stay updated on service practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
