About The Position

The Construction Equipment Operator at Solarstall, Inc. is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of construction equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role involves working closely with project management and other team members to ensure the successful completion of construction activities related to solar projects.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Similar
  • 1-2 Years of Construction Experience
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Able to work productively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented, dedicated, and self-motivated
  • Ability to report to work consistently per work schedule
  • Previous equipment operator experience
  • Able to work well independently and with supervision
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent in Spanish, both written and verbal
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings

Responsibilities

  • Drive, maneuver and operate designated equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct all work in a safe, professional, and cooperative manner as part of the construction team.
  • Engage in all safety meetings, trainings, and discussions, demonstrating understanding and commitment to safe work habits.
  • Successfully complete required training activities as mandated by Solarstall or the client.
  • Provide guidance to Solarstall Apprentice Equipment Operators when requested.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adopt behavior and attitude that aligns with the company's organizational values.
  • Comply with and promote company requirements established in the Integrated Management System (IMS), Quality and Health and Safety procedures, and work procedures.
  • Operate equipment in support of construction projects, including front-end loaders, backhoes, bobcats, excavators, and forklifts.
  • Monitor the condition of machinery and implement daily maintenance and operational checks.
  • Work under the direction of the Solarstall hierarchical manager on-site to accomplish tasks according to project and regulatory requirements.
  • Observe OSHA, NEC, and other regulatory requirements during work performance.
  • Perform and log daily maintenance activities, including cleaning and inspections of machinery.
  • Assist other operators in performing heavy equipment maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all equipment operations are conducted safely and in compliance with safety procedures.
  • Establish a safety cordon and utilize a safety spotter when required.
  • Observe and report any anomalies with equipment before operation.
  • Read, understand, and work from drawings, specifications, and instructions under supervision.
  • Complete basic paperwork and electronic documents, including records for materials used and daily attendance logs.
  • Perform other duties as required.
