This is technical engineering work involving inspection of a wide variety of public works, utilities, and building construction projects. Employees in this class are responsible for inspecting technical road, drainage, marine or utility projects. Duties require detailed knowledge of road, building, bridge, dock and seawall design, and construction, water distribution and backflow prevention, sewer transmission, and related projects and procedures. An incumbent may continue to perform Field Inspector 1 functions for an indefinite time or non-competitively advance to Construction Engineering Inspector 1 at the discretion of the appointing authority. The position reports to a manager, supervisor or designee and may require some overtime. This Field Inspector 1 (Field Inspector) position is located at: Public Works Complex, 22211 U.S. Highway 19 North, Clearwater, FL 33765 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Employee may be required to work nights, weekends, even holidays and/or flexible schedules (greater than 8 hours/day).
