About The Position

VCI is currently seeking an onsite full-time Construction Engineer for West Palm Beach VA Medical Center EHRM Construction Services. We have more than fifteen years of proven performance in the delivery of professional construction management and engineering services to multiple clients throughout the United States. These services include providing onsite construction quality managers / inspectors, scheduling, cost estimating, construction document management, constructability reviews, design reviews, commissioning, facilitated partnering, change management, claims consulting, and AE/designer of record services. And we do all of this as a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited University. However, we also consider candidates with 10 years of directly related experience in lieu of formal education
  • 5 years of experience in management of subject matter expertise, SME, in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering
  • Be able to pass a background check that includes validation of at least 3 years living in the US
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Basic knowledge of all engineering disciplines for hospital construction.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to brief owner during project update briefings.
  • Strong organizational skills to track projects, prepare meeting minutes, and meet required deadlines.
  • Must be able to complete work during normal business with occasional night, holiday, and weekend required.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be familiar with and able to use the Microsoft Suite of Services, including Teams, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and basic Excel skills.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, walk long distances on rough and uneven surfaces, stand for long periods, lift construction materials to access inspections, climb ladders and scaffolding

Responsibilities

  • Provides project construction consultation of a single major program or project or multiple projects.
  • Provides consultation in regard to business and technical management involving multidisciplinary and diverse functional activities.
  • Responsible to provide information to the Chief, Projects in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule.
  • Maintains daily progress reports and inspection reports.
  • Leads the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight.
  • Verse with VA Office of Construction & Facilities Management (CFM) in the Technical Information Library engineering specification implementation.
