About The Position

The E&I Field Engineer supports construction efforts by providing technical support to craft and supervision while ensuring quality requirements. The E&I Field Engineer initiates action when necessary to confirm the project is built according to the scope of work. This role provides construction engineering and technical support for electrical and instrumentation disciplines on large stand-alone projects and smaller projects. This role will contribute to the development of a metals refinery located in Bay Minette, AL.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Nice To Haves

  • • Ability to speak/read multiple languages
  • • Basic or intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets

Responsibilities

  • Address daily construction questions related to electrical and instrumentation.
  • Review and approve underground duct bank permits.
  • Conduct pre-concrete pour walkdowns to verify embedded conduit installations.
  • Respond to RFIs and provide technical interpretation of design documents.
  • Coordinate engineering changes with the construction team.
  • Revise design drawings to resolve field interferences and implement changes.
  • Review cable schedules and incorporate design updates.
  • Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with construction-related issues.
  • Coordinate completion of construction activities and prepare punch lists for system turnover or startup.
  • Perform system walkdowns for turnover readiness.
  • Analyze problems and recommend solutions in alignment with project objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
