About The Position

Contingent Hire depending on Contract Win. The Deployment Director is responsible to the Vice President of Operations in performing all aspects of deployment services across SKSG programs, ensuring a safe workplace, and promoting the organization's safety standards, which follow a Safety-First approach. The Deployment Director is a detail-oriented and organized professional who will work at communicating with the VP of Operations on the status of all assigned projects. They will lead or interact with lateral personnel and organizational personnel, including the Deputy Director of Deployment, Sustainment Director, Director of Field Operations, and Program/Project Managers, to coordinate and oversee deployment activities, including new systems installations, technology refresh/recapitalization projects, and tower site relocations. The Deployment Director manages the Deployment Team and oversees the teams responsible for executing proposal submissions, preparatory planning, scheduling, material acquisition, site activities, construction materials, and equipment. They will work with the project manager and the assigned engineer to identify the material and equipment needed to perform the work. This support includes working with procurement. The ideal candidate will have experience managing personnel, project costs, schedule, and technical performance. The Director position will maintain project costs, the profit and loss of projects, and financial reporting. The Director’s position will require travel depending on the project or contract. This position requires knowledge of industry standards and practices for site civil work, tower, sensors, communications, network, power, and other technology installations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Construction management experience or formal training on similar US Government installation projects.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in civil, tower, electrical, concrete, or structural construction experience and deploying systems of systems
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience leading teams in system deployment, planning, production, and a construction environment.
  • Current and unencumbered driver’s license
  • CPR and First Aid Training
  • Ability to obtain and US DoD Secret-level security clearance and / US DHS BI security clearance.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and experience developing and implementing solutions to jobsite challenges across multiple programs in a cross matrixed capacity.
  • Knowledge of Tax, Financial, and Reporting Requirements with reporting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrate proficiency in civil, towers, electrical, concrete, or structural construction practices.  
  • Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook required.  
  • Strong English language skills in verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand, communicate, and carry out instructions.     
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for measuring and prioritizing work tasks based on instructions and communicated objectives
  • Ability to track and maintain daily work tasks and schedules
  • Must be self-motivated and results-driven
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment, drug, and background screening for contract support.

  • Experience using Deltek/Costpoint systems for material management, cost reporting, and time tracking (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing several concurrent deployments and integrations in multiple locations while managing a staff of over 40 personnel.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a culture promoting an orderly and safe work environment
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, design documents, and work instructions
  • Maintains and captures work processes during the performance of work activities
  • Entrusted with company assets, government equipment, and confidential information and materials.
  • Responsible for supervising and enacting training on the proper use and operation of equipment, hand tools, power tools, rigging, test equipment, and materials
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a qualified team of Construction Managers, Leads, Foremen, and Project Managers who can accurately lead, track, and report on project status, materials used, hours work is performed, tasks, outcomes, and equipment usage
  • Oversee logistics and warehouse staff to ensure orderly tracking of equipment and material for deployments
  • Work with SKSG Team supporting the US Government Integrated Logistics Support System (ILSS) to manage Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) as appropriately required.
  • Directs personnel to receive material and equipment at the job site with accurate documentation and reporting
  • Directs personnel to perform the kitting of material for delivery to the project
  • Ability to be flexible and work for extended periods of time, overtime, on weekends, holidays, and overnight as required by the business and contract 
  • Directs, Leads, and manages work tasks with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Field Engineer, and Foreman
  • Assigns and directs assigned field teams (general labor, technicians, electricians, operators, and field service representatives, and concrete workers as assigned) 
  • Manages and inspects quality program activities to deliver exceptional service and monitors the quality of work product
  • Experience supporting ISO Audits, implementing quality procedures for inspections and field work, and support and maintenance of company and individual certifications
  • Travel will be required for the project based on business needs.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program.
  • Intermittently attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections for oversight.
  • Directs the operation of equipment within federal, state, local, and company regulations. 
  • Promotes and leads working in a safe, responsible manner and as an example to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the well-being of others.
  • Cooperate with safety personnel, supervisors, and managers to ensure proper procedures are followed according to the Company’s Safety Policies.
  • Works closely with Senior Leadership, Program Managers, Project Managers, technicians, Field Service Representatives, Construction Managers, Foreman, Security, Quality, and Customer Representatives in a collaborative environment.
  • Lead crew members and contribute towards the success of the projects and the organization.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain communication with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
  • Perform job-related reporting requirements per contract and corporate policies and practices 
  • Review safety and production reports
  • Supervise projects and personnel and review daily production data 
  • Ensure compliance with accurate timecard updates and sign timecards weekly to support reporting and payroll activities.
  • Operate a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
  • Keep assigned vehicle clean and orderly
  • Report maintenance requirements and/or damage in a timely manner
  • Ensure subordinates operate vehicles safely and within company policy and in accordance with local laws/regulations.
