About The Position

BRG's Construction Advisory practice offers professional experience and competence in fact finding, data analytics, claims/dispute analysis and management, and litigation support, along with technical expertise in engineering, architecture, construction management, public contracting, specifications and technical document development, schedule development and analysis, cost analysis, negotiations, and expert witness testimony. Our practice is seeking an experienced Spanish speaking manager in delays work that will be based out of our Miami office. This person will work directly with project team leaders and experts, in performing the detailed analyses required to provide the best solutions for our client. In addition, you will also: This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical capabilities, someone with an engineering and construction background that has a desire to work in a consulting firm advising clients. The work of senior staff can be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and projects range from industry and subject-matter research to data collection to the preparation of statistical, financial, and other forms of analysis.

Requirements

  • A BS degree with a focus in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum six (6+) years of experience Construction advisory service.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must have experience in handling construction defect analysis and/or delays, productivity analysis and claims/Change Order Analysis.
  • Experience in investigative work focused on contractual claims and disputes.
  • Commitment to producing high quality analysis and attention to details.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Desire to work within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • MS/MBA is preferred.
  • Previous field experience on construction projects or working for a large general contractor as a project manager is beneficial.
  • Proven capability with MS Excel and other statistical analysis programs (e.g. SAS, SQL, SPSS, Stata, R) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting detailed analyses of project schedule delays, cost overruns, productivity, contracts, change orders and other issues related to design and construction.
  • Assisting with data gathering activities including document review and supervision, and quality control of data entry activities.
  • Demonstrating proper creation and documentation of work product.
  • Demonstrate creativity and learn to efficiently use relevant software tools, analytical methods, and computer models to develop solutions.
  • Gain experience developing and maintaining electronic databases, spreadsheets and other files as dictated by project needs.
  • Perform detailed research and analysis, then put the results into action (e.g. gather, review, summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public and commercial databases).
  • Audit own work products and work products of others to assure quality.
  • Participate in a positive team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
