About The Position

The Construction Cost Estimator is responsible for various financial functions such as costing, estimating, budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis. This position will focus on estimating costs for various projects in government contracting to include construction, scientific staffing, administrative staffing, and environmental projects.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction or Building Science preferred, but extensive experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 year's experience
  • Must have experience working with estimating, cost control and scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of field construction including systems, practices, general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods and sequencing.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.
  • Strong work ethic with a passion to fulfill commitments.
  • Sincere obligation to client satisfaction
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

  • Design/Build experience is a plus
  • Experience on Federal projects

Responsibilities

  • Provide estimating and negotiating support with experience in the development of detailed quantity take-off and cost estimates for mul t i-discipline commercial construction projects.
  • Utilizing the industry-standard contractor's Automated Estimating System (AES).
  • Produce subcontractor bid packages, select subcontractors and suppliers based on best value, administering and overseeing subcontractor activities.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to ensure expectations are met.
  • Review subcontractor material, approved submittals and shop drawings and check construction for compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients (primarily Federal Government) to ensure successful completion of projects and client satisfaction.
  • Exercise good judgment in utilizing the necessary authority to properly manage and execute construction contracts.
  • Assure red line (as-builts) drawings are kept up to date in the field.
  • Participate in the company safety program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
