About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly skilled Cost Analyst to join our data center team. This role involves managing and analyzing costs for data center construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle. A strong background in data analytics and dashboard creation is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in cost engineering, with a focus on data center construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including the ability to build and manage dashboards and visualizations.
  • Strong analytical skills, experience with cost estimation software, and a solid understanding of financial forecasting and cost accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to thrive in a client-facing role.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and services.
  • Perform comprehensive cost analysis and forecasting to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Create and maintain interactive dashboards and visual reports using Power BI to support cost tracking, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports and progress updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams, procurement, and contract management to ensure cost control and planning advice.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in project design and execution.
  • Engage and manage third-party quantity surveyors and validate construction cost estimates.
  • Update and maintain a repository for historical cost data to inform future projects.
  • Define and track cost performance metrics, leading monthly cost reporting and analysis.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
