About The Position

The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Construction Coordinator/ Field Engineer Intern. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but to also be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. Requirements

Candidate should be pursuing a degree in civil, mechanical, industrial or construction management; experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Candidate should have completed at least one year of the appropriate study
Candidate will have the opportunity to work for 40 hours/week during summer (full-time)

Responsibilities

Participates in meetings and maintains good relationships with customers.
Utilize Systems state of the art laser scanners to scan projects in steel mills
Creating thorough work packages to turn over to subcontractors or field supervision.
Generating/Maintaining construction tracking sheets to turn over to project management.
Inputting data into our tracking system collected from field reports
Assist with receiving/locating materials
Preparing detailed estimates per customer requirements that include complete material take-offs and self-perform and subcontracted activities.
Preparing bid proposals to customers that include cost breakdowns, clarifications, the scope of work, and exclusions.
Creating pre-construction budgets to turn over to accounting and project management.
Assist in the procurement of materials for fabrication based on customer specifications.
Assist in field measurements and field design.
Support with problem-solving and scheduling during pre-construction phases.
