About The Position

The Construction Coordinator at New College of Florida is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of all construction projects on campus. This role involves managing project budgets, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with architectural and engineering standards. The coordinator will also conduct field inspections, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records related to construction activities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience; or technical training in an appropriate specialization.
  • Valid state of Florida driver's license.
  • Documented formal training in AutoCAD with intermediate proficiency.

  • Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office products (MS Word and Excel).
  • Florida Contractor's License.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting records of ongoing construction projects, including tracking project budgets and initiating vendor Purchase Orders and Change Orders.
  • Analyze budget reports and forecast expenditures using MS Excel.
  • Develop and maintain AutoCAD files for all campus buildings and site utilities.
  • Track all aspects of construction projects, including RFI logs, change order logs, daily progress reports, project budgets, and schedules.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental renovation projects, including scheduling and notifications.
  • Work closely with the Controller for fund allocations and maintain records for the Finance office and auditors.
  • Implement architectural and engineering standards for construction projects.
  • Manage minor construction-related projects on campus and conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
  • Prepare weekly reports and updates for the Architect and Director of Facilities.
  • Coordinate with field project supervisors and prepare punch lists for closeout tasks.
  • Maintain communication with permitting agencies for active construction projects and assist in the bidding process.
  • Develop construction administration policy documents and maintain project warranties.
  • Conduct product research and coordinate meetings with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Compile and maintain retrievable project files and closeout documentation.
  • Update campus space inventory based on CAD drawings and maintain facility record drawings and specifications.
  • Interface with State agencies for annual space inventory and condition reports.
