About The Position

The Construction Control Representative position at the Department of the Interior, specifically within the Redwood National and State Parks, involves overseeing construction contracts aimed at restoring and stabilizing watersheds through road decommissioning. This term position is expected to last at least 13 months, with the possibility of extension up to four years. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Successful completion of at least two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree, or equivalent graduate degree, from an accredited educational institution directly related to the work of this position.
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications, inspect materials and workmanship, and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project agreements, estimates for project management services, and other documents related to project setup with minimal assistance.
  • Serve as a certified Contracting Officer Representative in accordance with applicable training requirements of Federal Acquisition Regulations on design and construction projects.
  • Assist in developing independent Government Cost Estimates, Statements of Work, and other documents required for the procurement of design and construction contracts.
  • Track project budget, monitor project sites for safety, conduct inspections on completed work, and coordinate project closeout activities.
  • Facilitate meetings, monitor and document project progress through photos, daily/weekly logs, and other documentation.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to address unforeseen conditions.
