About The Position

The Douglaston Companies Summer Internship Program is an 8-week immersive experience where you’ll work on meaningful projects, develop in-demand skills, and connect with professionals shaping the future of NYC multifamily housing. As a compliance intern, you’ll be hired into one of our core business functions and contribute directly to the work of that team. While your day-to-day role will focus on your assigned area, our curated programming will provide insight into all areas of our business, helping you understand the bigger picture of how we lead the industry. Your internship experience will be enriched through: Executive Lunch & Learn Series with TDC executives Mentor Relationships Site visits to active projects and communities Community Outreach and Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities Team building activities with the summer intern cohort The TDC Internship program will run from June 15, 2026 – August 7, 2026.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (liberal arts, labor relations, public policy, arts & sciences, or related fields)
  • Interest in real estate, property development, construction, and/or compliance
  • Self-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization and maintenance of compliance electronic files, including daily logs, certified payrolls, and Subcontractor documentation
  • Collect and review daily sign-in/out logs; assist in cross-referencing with payroll records to confirm compliance with required wage and benefit standards
  • Help prepare weekly and monthly reports by maintaining tracking logs using Excel and internal compliance software
  • Assist with various compliance-related projects and participate in labor standards training sessions
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets and data for compliance tracking purposes
  • Submit all requirements while adhering to deadlines as contractually obligated
  • Work closely with the compliance team to fulfill reporting obligations to various agencies
  • Perform various administrative tasks and additional duties as assigned
