About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Architectural Sheet Metal and Roofing Draftsman/CAD Drafter to join our team. This individual will be responsible for producing accurate and comprehensive shop drawings, details, and layouts for commercial roofing and architectural sheet metal projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure precision and efficiency in project execution.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in drafting, with a focus on commercial roofing or architectural sheet metal.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting software.
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, architectural sheet metal, and related building materials.
• Familiarity with local building codes, construction standards, and industry practices.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of fabrication and installation processes for roofing and sheet metal systems.
• Experience with 3D modeling software or Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Certification in drafting or CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop drawings, plans, and layouts for commercial roofing and architectural sheet metal projects using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
• Develop fabrication details and installation drawings based on project specifications and architectural blueprints.
• Prepare roof plans, flashing details, and other related technical drawings required for roofing and sheet metal projects.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, local building codes, and project-specific requirements.
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to understand project scope and requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve discrepancies or conflicts in project drawings.
• Review and integrate architectural and structural drawings to ensure compatibility with roofing and sheet metal plans.
• Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company and client standards.
• Revise drawings as needed based on feedback from stakeholders or changes in project scope.
• Maintain organized records of project drawings and revisions.
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation for submittal packages and project approval processes.
• Ensure all drafting work aligns with OSHA safety standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist with material takeoffs and estimations from shop drawings.
• Support field teams with technical guidance during installation phases.
