About The Position

Construction and Maintenance Technician at Rainbow Acres Responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on ranch buildings, swimming pool, mechanical equipment and utility systems, and assists with the construction of new facilities on the ranch. Also serves as a small project leader in addition to providing leadership for volunteers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair and construction work.
  • Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to meet all clearance requirements, including: Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card Background check Pre-employment physical Drug screening Reference check Verification of absence from the Arizona Adult Protective Services Registry
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Demonstrate strong ethical standards and moral character, with sensitivity to the needs of our Residents/Ranchers.
  • Must have good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to follow directions, work efficiently and thoroughly, and complete assignments
  • Ability to navigate the terrain of the ranch safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate projects by organizing materials, creating diagrams as needed, and guiding volunteer groups to ensure successful mission and construction activities.
  • Perform comprehensive construction and repair work, including framing, finish work, drywall, painting, window and door repairs, and both minor and major facility repairs.
  • Maintain building systems and equipment through scheduled preventive maintenance, daily/weekly/monthly checklists, and timely response to emergency maintenance needs.
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot technical systems, including electrical wiring and equipment, plumbing, refrigeration, pool systems, computer cabling, and cable TV.
  • Support operational continuity by submitting work orders, maintaining maintenance records, and participating in a rotating on‑call schedule for weekends and holidays.
