About The Position

We are a leading supplier of sand, gravel, crushed stone, and other aggregate materials for the construction industry. The Construction Sales Representative focuses on building and maintaining relationships with contractors, municipalities, and industrial clients to drive sales growth in assigned territories. Small Company background with public/private sales relationships and logistics will help the qualified candidate stand out.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience; post-secondary technical experience is a plus.
  • 2–5 years of sales experience in aggregates, construction materials, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals with strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems like Salesforce, SAP, QlikView, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently (30–40%) across the territory.
  • Technical knowledge of aggregate products, construction specifications, and contract processes.
  • Resilient self-starter with strong organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Demonstrated logistics experience (last mile trucking)

Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Customer Relationships
  • Direct understanding how to find leads in construction plan rooms.
  • Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities in the aggregate marketing contractors, builders, municipalities, and infrastructure customers.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers by understanding their needs and offering tailored aggregate solutions,
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
  • Sales & Market Strategy
  • Develops private sales relationships (landscape centers, data centers, private construction, etc.)
  • Meet or exceed sales targets by driving volume, pricing, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Develop and execute sales plans, bids, and quotations; leverage competitors and market intelligence to refine strategies.
  • Partner with operations and logistics to ensure inventory availability and timely delivery.
  • Account & Contract Management
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules in partnership with internal teams.
  • Manage project-based sales including bid tracking, quoting, contract execution, and invoicing.
  • Ensure top-tier customer satisfaction through quality oversight, effective communication, and timely issue resolution.
  • Reporting & CRM Maintenance
  • Document all sales activities, pipeline progress, and competitor insights within the CRM system.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, weekly/monthly reports, and financial documentation.
  • Market Intelligence & Compliance
  • Monitor market trends, competitor actions, and customer feedback to pivot sales strategies.
  • Stay informed about bid processes, product specifications, and testing requirements at state, county, and municipal levels.
  • Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards in all interactions and site visits.
