About The Position

Join our dynamic A/E retail studio to support a national brand retail client on high volume, small format construction projects. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented leaders eager to mentor junior staff while driving excellence across multidisciplinary teams. Construction Administrator II works independently with minimal supervision to facilitate project communication between the construction and design teams to ensure the design intent is achieved allowing the project design teams to focus on current projects in the design process and consults with them on discrepancies in submittals/shop drawings and RFIs that need design attention. Travel to observe construction projects in the mid-west, mid-Atlantic, and southeast on a reoccurring basis is required. Requirements

  • Education Requirements: Professional degree in the architecture, engineering, or construction management

Responsibilities

  • Observe construction activities and document conformance with approved construction drawings/plans, project requirements, standards, and specifications
  • Report exceptions or deviations from approved plans, specifications, and/or construction issues to project manager, construction contractor supervisor, and/or other appropriate party
  • Prepare prompt and accurate field reports summarizing field operations/installations, plan deviations, and corrective actions
  • Review and process all construction administrative tasks such as processing submittals, shop drawings, and all RFIs in a timely manner
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Mentor & train junior staff
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the design team
  • Specification editing/writing
  • Code Analysis
  • Quality control/quality assurance
  • Construction design directive review
